In Bangladesh la sentenza della Corte Suprema che ha rivisto le quote di assunzione riservate ai veterani di guerra non ha scoraggiato i manifestanti dall’avanzare richieste al governo di Sheikh Hasina. I leader studenteschi hanno detto che non intendono fermarsi prima che il coprifuoco venga revocato e che tutti i compagni arrestati siano rilasciati. Martedì 23 luglio, infatti, è il sesto giorno senza internet in tutto il Bangladesh. La misura aveva fatto seguito alla decisione del governo di stabilire un coprifuoco con l’ordine di sparare a vista per reprimere le proteste che hanno visti coinvolti soprattutto giovani studenti e polizia. Ad oggi si contano più di 160 morti.
